How long do Restylane, Cosmoderm, Captique, and Hylaform last? On the average
treatments last four months or longer.
What are the Side Effects? Most common
side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection
site. Bruising may also occur.
What should patients do prior to treatment?
Our dermal fillers require no pre-testing. Avoid using
aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, St. John’s Wort,
and high doses of Vitamin E prior to treatment because these may increase
bleeding and bruising at the injection site. If you have previously
suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures
could contribute to another experience.
Do the injections hurt?
Dermal fillers are injected directly into the skin
in tiny amounts by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort.
The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically
instantaneous. To optimize your comfort, the physician may elect to
anesthetize the treatment area. Your physician will discuss the various
anesthetic options with you.
Any pre- or post-treatment guidelines? Our
physicians provide these prior to your treatment.
Where can I get more information?

How are dermal fillers different
from Botox Cosmetic?
Restylane, Cosmoder, Captique, and Hylaform are natural, cosmetic fillers. In contrast,
Botox is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes underlying
muscle. Many patients receive a combination of treatments and have
been pleased with the outcome.
How much does it cost?
Treatment and amount is customized to your specific needs. Therefore,
the costs will vary.
