Mesotherapy |
|
|
Mesotherapy is a safe, non-surgical technique for significant weight
loss, spot weight reduction, and eliminating cellulite from heavy
thighs, abdomen, hips and buttocks. Mesotherapy has been touted
as a breakthrough for body sculpting, cellulite reduction
and skin rejuvenation.
Mesotherapy is a technique invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor
in France. The technique has been used there since that time with
great success. In 1987 the French Academy of Medicine recognized
Mesotherapy as an inherent part of traditional medicine. Only recently
has it migrated to the United States where practitioners and patients
sing its praises. It has been featured on CBS’ 48 Hours, ABC’s
20/20, and Good Morning America and most recently on NBC’s
Today Show.
Mesotherapy Treatment involves the injection of a specially prepared
mixture of vitamins, amino acids and medications just millimeters
under the skin into the problem areas. Just a drop of solution is
used at each site.
Currently only a handful of American doctors have been trained
in administering Mesotherapy. Problem areas, such as the abdomen,
thighs and upper arms, are often the targets of Mesotherapy. Other
areas around the face and chin can also be done. Usually several
dozen injections are given in a single treatment, and the course
of treatment varies with each individual. Each treatment may take
from 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the area involved. The treatment
has minimal discomfort.
After a treatment the patient can return to usual activities.
The combination of vitamins, drugs and supplements are all approved
by the FDA. The vitamins, drugs and supplements work
in combination to actually shrink or eliminate fat in the body.
“Mesosculpting” or spot fat reduction using Mesotherapy
involves injections given directly into the areas being treated,
e.g., love handles, bra bulges, saddlebags, etc. A series of treatments
(5-15) are given spaced 1-2 weeks apart. The results are considered
permanent so long as the patient adheres to a proper nutrition and
exercise regimen.
Occasional touch-ups may be required. Mesoscupting answers the question
that so many people have for so long been asking: Is it possible
to get rid of fat without having some kind of invasive procedure?
For those who find liposuction too invasive, mesotherapy for fat
loss and body contouring is absolutely the answer. For those patients
who have already had liposuction and now find fat depositing in
other areas as well as cellulite that has become worse, mesotherapy
is the solution.
Mesotherapy is not considered to be an alternative to an educated
and self-empowered healthy lifestyle. Fat and/or cellulite can develop
in other areas without lifestyle changes. It can certainly, however,
treat the “problem areas” where diet and exercise fail.

Who is a Candidate?
Adults who are between the ages of 18 and 75 and in good health
are candidates for Mesotherapy weight loss, spot reduction and cellulite
reduction. Patients who are pregnant, on blood heart thinners, diabetics, on medication for heart conditions, or have cancer are not candidates for
Mesotherapy.
The Results
Mesotherapy results are measured in inches. Because fat is melted
under the skin, about one pound of fat per week is lost-equal to
four sticks of butter! Mesotherapy treatments may be applied to
arms, waist, back and legs all in one session. Patients can lose
up to four inches on their waist, hips and thighs.
For cellulite treatments, Mesotherapy is a permanent solution, which
eliminates dimpling and misshapen fat under the skin. Cellulite
is an accumulation of fat, fluid and toxins trapped in a hardened
network of connective tissue fibers in the mesoderm layer. The fat
cells inflate, causing a rippling and puckering of the skin, commonly
referred to as orange peel skin. Lymphatic and venous circulation
is poor in these areas. Mesotherapy is used to create an increase
in venous and lymphatic flow as well as the elimination of fat and
dimpling in the area. The patient’s skin appears significantly
smoother.
Most patients lose anywhere from two to four inches where their
cellulite is treated.
In spot weight reduction, Mesotherapy is a painless alternative
to liposuction. Fat and cellulite are eliminated from targeted sites
using the same treatment described above. Unlike liposuction, only
the fat (not the fat cells) is removed. Some patients can lose two
to six inches in their saddlebags, hips, thighs, waist, love handles,
back fat and chin when the combination is placed in those areas.
Mesotherapy is not used to reduce fatty tumors or breast tissue
in women.
How Much Does Mesotherapy Cost?
The cost of Mesotherapy depends, of course, upon the areas treated
and the number of sessions required. From time to time Be Medical
Spa offers promotional specials.
